Strong-minded. Open-minded. Narrow-minded.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
How do we get so focused on everything else when clearly our minds are of major if not the utmost importance?! What is your frame of mind (see what I did there?!) right now, at this very moment? Are you chilling, frazzled, spaced out, focused?
Without some awareness of where your head is at during any given point in the day, staying present to who you are being is pretty difficult. As in you may be just going through the motions. Where’s the fun in that?
I can almost guarantee you that if you are not taking care of your mental health, then a number of things in your life are likely not working. I don’t care how fit you may look, nothing is sexier, more beautiful, more sparkly then someone who has it together upstairs.
Say it loud.
Mental health is kind of a dirty lil’ phrase. So I’ll say it again: MENTAL HEALTH. Be aware of yours. Take the mental health day (I didn’t tell you that you HAVE to skip work, so don’t come back for me!) when you need one. Get the routine you need to keep your mind as clear as possible.
My three favorite ways to keep my crazy away are listed below. Make up your mind on what you like and share what works for your mental health care routine. The more resources, the merrier ALL of our minds can be!
- Guided Meditation Audio Downloads and Meditation Challenges
- Establishing a morning routine or ritual BEFORE any calls, texts, emails, social media. Set the tone for the day. This could be any combination of things…meditation, reading positive affirmations, doing sun salutations, saying aloud the things you WANT to happen for the day/intention setting. Whatever feels good for whatever amount of time you can consistently carve out of your morning.
- Music, music, music. I give myself a good ole solo dance party all the time. Something about a good beat and shaking my a** in the comfort of my home just gets me FIRED UP.
