Getaways?? YES. I don’t know what you have going on in your life right now. We’re currently in the midst of a goofy winter in Chicago, and sunny days are at a minimum. Grey days mean you have to really make an effort to bring out that inner sunshine. Sometimes I find myself daydreaming about being on a beach, toes in the sand, skin beaming, ice cold piña colada in hand. That’s when I know this girl needs a getaway! Are you feeling yourself catching a bout of the Winter Blues? Time to GO.

But I don’t have any time! I don’t have enough money!

How much is your personal well-being worth to you? A complete change of scenery can do wonders for your mindset. And we know when you are mentally fit, everything else has the space to fall into place. Just like we scramble to take a lunch or coffee break during the day, we need to spare some time and coins for getaways. Even a day trip is a break from the norm that can spark a perspective shift. Cause you to move back to a place of gratitude instead of lack and limitation (and subsequently, stress).

Keep it simple.

Ok, so time and money are truly not in total abundance. Opt for a day trip. Even just a staycation. Go alone, round up the squad or spend some quality time with your loves. The point is to detach from the rigorous demands of your daily routine and all commitments. Change gears and focus on yourself because you deserve the attention. Getaways are self-care. Whatever and whomever you are leaving behind will love the refreshed version of you when you return.
